SpaceX Kickass Awards
Demonstrated ownership of work and had direct influence on positive aspects of the mission. Put out more effort than peers and showed pride in the work. Organizational impact and mid-term project beyond normal responsibilities.
Guinness World Record & Robohand
Co-lead a 24 hour print-a-thon to manufacture 200+ biodegradable Robohands and break the Guinness World Record for total number of 3D printers running at the same time.
High Tech Innovation Award
Co-engineered the Airwolf 3D HDx Printer honored with the Outstanding Enterprise Hardware & Device Award from the OC Tech Alliance. The standout features recognized by the award included the JRx Print Head, withstanding 315°C (600°F) enabling engineering grade materials such as polycarbonate, as well as a large build volume and good resolution & speed.

3D Printer Systems and Methods
Airwolf 3D JR2X Print Head (FDM Plastic Extrusion)
- Jam: Heat can conduct up into the cold zone, swelling the filament and jamming the print head
- Leak: Low viscosity melted filament can leak through poorly sealed components, especially threads
- Seize: Thermal cycling can seize threaded components eliminating the ability to rebuild the print head, while anti-seize can clog the nozzle
- Intent: Concentrate heat at the end of the filament while preventing transfer upwards in the print head
- Components: Nozzle, Heater, Insulator, Cooler
- Design: Slim nozzle with face-to-face heater connection (without threads), insulator immediately above it with fins and cooling fans
- Operation: Retract filament during print head travel to keep the heat from heat-soaking the filament
3D Printer Enclosure
Airwolf 3D HD Series Printer (FDM Enclosure)
- Warp: Open frames convect heat out of the printer causing large prints to warp
- Airflow: Uncontrolled ambient airflow cools layers unevenly causing splits and weak layer adhesion
- Safety: Users are exposed to heaters, moving components, and toxic plastic fumes
- Intent: Hold stable chamber temperature so prints are dimensionally and materially sound
- Components: Frame, Panels, Door
- Design: Cabinet fully encloses all heated and moving components
- Operation: Close the door during the print to hold chamber heat; open for part removal and maintenance
